Andrea’s inspiration and artistic creativity is as deeply rooted as the Acasia trees that thrive in her home province “the friendly province” Eastern Cape, South Africa.
More than 10 years ago her passion for the arts swept her away from her studies for Human Movement at the University of the Western Cape to study Performing Arts at New Africa Theatre Academy. After graduating she gave true meaning to her Xhosa names Nomasebe [meaning one with lots of branches] and Nomathamsanqa [meaning one with lots luck]. Lady luck smiled on her and saw her branches flourish, as a storyteller, praise poet, playwright and author as well as an actress and director.
As a Storyteller Andrea works in English and various South African indigenous languages including Xhosa, Sotho, a bit of Afrikaans and Tswana. Her stories and her voice are magical, telling of lands where a name speaks of character, where elephants ride rainbows to grant wishes and where the cosmos is so much more than the moon and the stars.
